The first season of Ms Marvel will not only show us Kamala Kahn’s path to becoming a heroine, it will also pay tribute to Black Widow in her own way.
Kamala Kahn is days away from living the adventure of her life in the premiere of the Ms Marvel series, where the protagonist will pay a well-deserved tribute to Natasha Romanoff, who in life was known as Black Widow.

Kamala is a big fan of the heroes that have emerged since the New York incidents, when they first met in 2012, and one of her dreams is to become a hero, something that will come true.
Similar to her character, Kamala Kahn / Ms. Marvel, actress Iman Vellani stated at a press event that playing Marvel’s new heroine is a dream that she is still assimilating.
“It didn’t feel real for the last two years, and it still doesn’t now. I’m on autopilot right now. I don’t know how I’m going to process this or if I ever will. But yes, I am very lucky and I am very happy to be able to have good people around me.”.
Vellani hopes to become an inspiration to fans who at some point in their lives feel lonely or don’t fit in anywhere.
“I want people to feel less alone, whether you’re an Avengers fan, or you’re Pakistani or Muslim, or you’re a kid trying to figure out your place in this world. All. I think Kamala is such a universal character and a lot of people can relate to her.”.
This is how Ms Marvel will remember Black Widow
Iman Vellani pointed out that in this first season of Ms Marvel, her character will find her fighting style, so to find it, Kamala will imitate the fighting style and poses of various heroines, of which Black Widow stands out.
“She’s not a fighter, she’s a sixteen year old high school girl. So a lot of it was like, ‘Okay, he’s probably copying everything he sees.’ So we included a lot of Black Widow poses and Brie Larson’s iconic Captain Marvel poses. So yeah we have some fun stuff in there”.
Ms Marvel is a new and original series featuring Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction writer, Kamala is a mega Super Hero fan with an outsized imagination, especially when it comes to Captain Marvel.
However, Kamala feels invisible both at home and at school, that is, until she gains superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan, also known as Ms Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.
The episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Bisha K. Ali are the executive producers. The series is co-executive produced by Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, and Bisha K. Ali is the lead writer.
Ms Marvel will arrive on digital platforms on June 8, through the Disney Plus digital platform.
