The contestants themselves are the ones who have revealed that they do not charge anything from RTVE In economic terms. Yes, they receive publicity, promotion and the Benidorm Fest 2023 is a springboard to launch (or relaunch in some cases) their careers, but nothing more. Of course, the public entity runs with the expenses of the actions and management, Besides the scenery of the numbers we see on television.
Public television also pays for all of them during their stay in Benidorm, that is, food, lodging and transportation. Although perhaps the most surprising thing is to know that the one who is chosen as the representative of Spain in Eurovision 2023 does not charge anything either. At least, that is what the newspaper ‘Mundo Deportivo’ has published: the whopping figure of zero euros.
The favorites to win the crystal microphone (the physical prize, which the winners do take home as a gift) are Agoney (winner of the first semifinal) and Blanca Paloma (of the second), although it is not ruled out that some of the other contestants give the surprise like Fusa Nocta or Vicco. Who will end up getting the honor (because money, little) of taking her song to all of Europe and part of the world this year in Liverpool?
