The return (for 2024) of Daredevil is heating up engines in what has started the production of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, the Disney + series. A new fiction of which we barely know what it will be about, despite the fact that the title can indicate where the inspiration comes from, but that will somehow take over from the great Netflix series.
So much so that for erik olesonwriter and showrunner of what for many is the best season of ‘Daredevil’ (the third and last), the new series is a season 4 until proven otherwise. This was stated in a recent interview with ScreenRant.
Born again, again
In it, the producer (who premiered the final season of ‘Carnival Row’ a few weeks ago) He is excited about this new version. of the blind superhero marvelita. Although he is not directly involved in it, he believes that instead of the kind of “rebooot” that Marvel sells, we have a direct sequel:
«I support them. I have no inside information for you. I knew it was going to happen just from whispers among friends of the Marvel family salseo. But I really don’t know yet what they’re planning. We use pieces from Born Again in our season. I still call [Daredevil: Born Again] Season 4, but they keep insisting it’s not, so I play along with whatever they want to call it.
I’m very happy that Charlie [Cox] and Vincent [D’Onofrio] and I hope more of our friends at Marvel get the chance to do more of the series. I’m a big fan of them; a big fan of the series. I’m looking forward to seeing what it is. I hope it’s great, let me put it like that.”
He also affirms that he has certain doubts about what the version for Disney + will be like, especially considering the darkness they could reach in the Netflix series:
“We had the ability to go to dark places and I’m not sure what a version of the series will be like on Disney+. We will see. There are many iterations of the character in the comics so it’s like “Is it more yellow? Or is it more…?” Who knows? But I wish them all the luck and I’m totally excited to see it.”
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has its cast with, for the moment, three actors from the original series: Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle They are the only confirmed original cast.
