After three films and an animated series, the story of ‘The descendants’ with a new movie musical for Disney+ which promises new characters and many more songs.

The first installment of ‘The descendants’ (‘Descendants’) premiered in 2015 with a musical that mixed comedy and adventure and that managed to connect wonderfully with its young audience. Through a trilogy of films, the franchise has explored the lives of the teenage children of major Disney villains as they try to escape the shadows of their parents.
The main story follows Evilthe daughter of Maleficent, Carlosthe son of Cruella de Vil, Jaythe son of Jafar, and Evethe daughter of the Evil Queen from ‘Snow White’, while also exploring the mythology of the Disney films with various twists for some of its most iconic characters.
Well, if there was still something to do with this franchise, there is already a new movie in sight. ‘The Pocket Watch’ is the working title for the next installment, which will premiere directly on Disney+. Production begins this summer so there may be a 2023 release window.
The film will feature seven new original songs plus other Disney classics and will be introduced to Netthe rebellious teenage daughter of the Queen of Hearts from ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and Chloéthe daughter of Cinderella and her prince who happens to be a sports prodigy.
Jennifer Phang (‘Foundation’, ‘The Boys’) will direct ‘The Pocketwatch’ and also serve as executive producer, while Dan Fray and Russell Sommer They will write the script. The new Descendants movie will also feature other regular collaborators from the franchise, as Mark Hofeling returns as production designer.
