With the new movements inside Warner Bros, David Zaslav, the company’s new CEO, would seek the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, and the Man of Steel is the center of the DC Universe
One of the most anticipated returns by millions of fans in the world of cinema is that of Superman, and although there are currently several projects in development, the version of the Man of Steel played by Henry Cavill.

The British actor joined the DC Comics Extended Universe, playing Clark Kent/Superman in Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman (2016), and Justice League (2017).
After the controversies caused by the filming of Justice League, Cavill has not made another project like Superman for Warner Bros.
In recent weeks Warner Bros. merged with Discovery, creating a new media and movie studio conglomerate, with David Zaslav named as the company’s CEO.
Zaslav and his team began evaluating Warner Bros. projects, including movies based on DC Comics characters. On June 1, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Tobey Emmerich left his job as president of Warner Bros.
Zaslav appointed Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy as interim presidents, so the company’s film division will be divided into three blocks, one formed by the Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema studios, another that will be Warner Animation and the third focused on DC productions.
Zaslav’s first important decision was to cancel the production of Wonder Twins, whose filming would start in June 2022.
The death of (the) Superman projects?
According to a report published by The Wrap, David Zaslav has ordered the various branches of Warner Bros. Pictures to cancel projects being developed in relation to Superman.
JJ’s film Abrams, with the screenplay by Ta-Neshi Coates, as well as the Van-Zod series, produced by Michael B. Jordan, will go on hiatus until Warner Bros reorganizes.
Zaslav also pointed out to his team that the DC Comics Extended Universe must have one essential premise, Superman (Henry Cavill) as the center of that shared universe.
“They need to make a Superman movie, and if the plan is a shared universe, a Superman led by (Henry) Cavill needs to be the focal point.”.
So far Warner Bros. and DC Comics have not set a position on the return of Henry Cavill as Superman.
Upcoming movie releases based on DC Comics properties include League of Super-Pets (Animated) Black Adam, Aquaman and the Lost World, and The Flash.
