If you are a prestigious filmmaker with a few decades of activity behind you, you begin to have all the ballots for your work to begin to be a victim of all kinds of remakes, some decent, some not so much. The last filmmaker to feel this phenomenon in his —new— flesh is none other than David Cronenbergwhose ‘Inseparables’ was the last to go through the bodywork and paint shop.
The twins strike twice
As we told you in mid-2020, the murky ‘Dead Ringers’ —as it was originally titled— would become a miniseries produced by and starring Rachel Weisz, which would replace the perfidious twins played by Jeremy Irons in the original. Well, today we have finally been able to get our hands on a first trailer for the show and things look surprisingly decent.
The gender change of the protagonists will not be the only thing that has changed in this jump to the cathodic medium that has brought under the arm some other twist in regards to its themes and plot ins and outs. Nothing better than taking a look at the synopsis to check:
“Elliot and Beverly Mantle are twins who share it all: drugs, lovers, and a desire to do whatever it takes, including challenging the ethical boundaries of medicine, in an effort to challenge outdated practices and innovate in healthcare. of the woman”.
‘Inseparable’ Coming to Amazon Prime Video on April 21 under the wing of a most interesting group of directors made up of Sean Durkin —’Martha Marcy May Marlene’—, Lauren Wolfstein —A friend of the Family’—, Karen Evans —’Y: The Last Man’— and Karyn Kusama —’The invitation’— which, in turn, will be led by the showrunner Alice Birchwriter of ‘El prodigio’ and several episodes of ‘Succession’.
