Fans of ‘Cobra Kai’ who have devoured the new episodes of the Netflix series: we will have to wait a long time to see season 6…if there is a new installment of the serial sequel to ‘Karate Kid’ (saga that will have a new movie). So they have ensured Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, its creators.
Speaking to Deadline, Hurwitz was very cautious when talking about the future of the series. The writer assured that, although the protagonists of the series are still perennial in their heads, they still have not officially guaranteed the renewal of ‘Cobra Kai’.
the packed schedule
And if this new season is produced, the production will have to wait for the carry out the trio’s new projects:
“We’re still squaring all of that with Sony and Netflix and we don’t have a season 6 to officially announce yet. What we can say is that we are constantly thinking about these characters. We’re working on ‘Obliterated’ for Sony and Netflix. We’re in our second month of production and I think it’s going to blow people’s minds. But we’re hopeful there’s more Cobra Kai on the horizon. There might be a little more waiting potentially, just because we’re working on that other series, but it won’t go very far, assuming everything goes as we hope.”
Among these projects are ‘Obliterated’, an action comedy in which an elite team discovers with a celebratory hangover that they have not neutralized the great threat they faced; Y ‘Sam and Victor’s Day Off‘, a spin off of ‘All in a day’ focused on the valet parking of the Hughes film.
Returning to ‘Cobra Kai’, season 5 ended up pretty much closing up most of the loose ends until then, so there doesn’t seem to be much urgency in this regard. Of course, although it is not officially renewed, it would be strange if Netflix decided not to grant a sixth season (even if it is already goodbye) to one of its most important series.
