DC Comics and Max, HBO’s streaming service, shared the first trailer for The Penguin, a series starring Colin Farrell, who gave life to the villain in The Batman.
“You ask yourself, what kind of life do I want?… The world is not made for guys like us; that’s why we have to take what is ours”, is one of the phrases that Cobblepott mentions in this preview of the series that will arrive in the year 2024.
More details of The Penguin
In addition to Farrell, The Penguin cast will include Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, daughter of the late Carmine Falcone, and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, one of Gotham’s most dangerous crime bosses.
The Penguin will start right where The Batman ended, with part of Gotham City under water, after the explosions caused by Edward Nashton, who is already known as the Riddler.
The producer of The Batman, Dylan Clark, spoke about the spin-off series that Warner Bros prepares about Penguin, which will feature Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepott.
“We’re doing one with Colin (Farrell), watching Oz rise to power, almost like a Scarface story… It’s exciting to do something like that alone, but it speaks to the character and our movie, so you’re going to go back to the movie and say, ‘ Oh I see that backstory there, that line refers to this”.
The Penguin will land on the Max digital platform in 2024.
