In what in recent months there has been a lot of noise about whether Paramount + could arrive directly in our country, ViacomCBS and Comcast have announced the first dates and markets in which their joint platform, SkyShowtime, will land in Europe in twenty countries, including Spain.
Specifically, it will be September 20th when SVOD launches in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland) and already during the fourth quarter of 2022 it will expand to the Netherlands. The next countries would be Spain, Portugal and Andorra together with the regions of Central and Eastern Europe.
This expansion would occur between said fourth quarter of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023. Of course, there are still no specific dates for each of the countries. Like the price window we would move through.
€6.99 per month in the Nordic countries
In the Nordic countries the price is around 6.99 euros per month and their equivalents in crowns of each state. There is little information about the application except that it will be based on Peacock and will have 18 languages.
Remember that SkyShowtime is a service that will bring together the contents of ViacomCBS, Comcast and their respective brands: Universal Pictures, Paramount, Paramount+, Peacock, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, Sky and Showtime.
Regarding the content, as always it will depend on each country and how the “mess” of licenses for each series and movie is. Regarding the former, in the promotional spot we see series like ‘Yellowstone’, ‘Yellowjackets’, ‘Super pumped’, ‘The First Lady’, ‘The Offer’ and ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, some of which (those of Showtime) we can see in Movistar Plus +.
