we already know that makoto shinkai is already finalizing the details for his new project, ‘Suzume no Tojimari’. The anime film will be released in Japan on November 11, but today we have received the news that Crunchyroll will handle worldwide theatrical distribution.
Direct to cinemas at the beginning of the year
Crunchyroll has confirmed today that we will be able to see ‘Suzume no Tojimari‘ in theaters and that it will distribute the film in all territories except Asia. In Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa and certain parts of Europe, it will collaborate with Sony Pictures Entertainment for this distribution.
A specific date for the anime film has not been confirmed yet, but it has been announced that will arrive in early 2023so fingers crossed we may be able to point towards a premiere during the first quarter of the year.
For now we don’t know anything concrete about the Spanish dubbing, but seeing that ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’ will arrive in original and dubbed version and it seems that ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ too, we can assume that ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ will also have a new dub.
In addition to the film’s fall release, it has also been confirmed that ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ will have its novel adaptation. Shinkai is doing the novelization himself as well as ‘Your name’ and ‘The time with you’, with the novel version going on sale in Japan on August 24.
‘Suzume no Tojimari’ follows Suzume, a teenager who finds a door a strange door in the middle of some ruins. The young woman is attracted to her, and when she opens it, other doors begin to open throughout Japan, unleashing all kinds of disasters. In order to prevent further tragedies from happening, Suzume must close all these portals.
