Bastian, Falkor the Dragon of Luck and the characters from The Neverending Story could return in a new version, which would reach a series or movie for digital platforms
One of the films that marked the 80’s is The Neverending Story, based on the homonymous novel written by Michael Ende, almost four decades after its premiere, this film could have a new version.

The film follows Bastian, a 10-year-old boy, who is bullied at school, and one day, hiding from his bullies, he arrives at the library, where he starts reading a fantasy book, which he gets hooked on, until that Bastian himself becomes the protagonist of the story.
The success of the film directed by Wolfgang Petersen captivated the world, to the point of being more popular than the book by Michael Ende (also the author of Momo), who was not satisfied with this film version.
The site Deadline reports that almost four decades after its premiere, different streaming companies and television studios have begun a fight to get the rights to Ende’s work, which could soon arrive either in a new movie or in a new one. Serie.
The euphoria for period series, such as The Rings of Power or The House of the Dragon have encouraged different studios to produce projects of the same cut.
In 2011 Warner Bros. Pictures in partnership with the Kennedy/Marshall Company and the production company Appian Way, owned by Leonardo DiCaprio, worked on a new adaptation, which was canned, since according to producer Kathleen Kennedy, there was no point in making a new adaptation.
Nostalgia for movies like The Neverending Story reached series like Stranger Thing, which paid him a well-deserved tribute in its third season.
