Located just under 3 hours and a half from Madrid, this medieval town in the middle of the mountains is one of those places where you can get lost. It has been a National Monument since 1961 and has the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 1996, as well as being a member of the list of “The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain”.
The Sierra de Albarracín has hiking and car routes with which to get lostbut this time we are going to make our getaway to a small medieval town that we love and that shares its name: Albarracín. It is 30 minutes from Teruel and has fallen in love with National Geographic. So much so that he has included it in his list of towns in Spain that are worth visiting in 2023.

You can also walk the path of the River walk of the Guadalaviar, a small circular route at the foot of the Albarracín lasting an hour and a half that ends in the gardens of the lower part of the town.
And since we do not like to stay alone in the villages, we are going to propose a route of trekking so that this getaway is also active and full of nature. It is the route through the Blanco River, between Calomarde and Frías and with about 8 km round trip.
