A few days ago, the premiere of the eighth season of Señor de los Cielos took place, the American television series, produced and recorded entirely in Mexico and broadcast by Telemundo.
The premiere of this well-known televised series managed to obtain a rating of approximately 11,600,000 viewers, a truly outstanding figure for prime time on the television network.
So far this year, 5 episodes of this eighth season have been broadcast, the series has positioned itself as one of the most favorites of the Latino community in the United States.
The series is written by Luis Zelkowicz and Mariano Calasso and is based on an original idea by Andrés López López.
The series is inspired by the life of a Mexican drug trafficker, Amado Carrillo, and his name was changed to Aurelio Casillas in the series, played by actor Rafael Amaya.
The first season premiered on April 15, 2017, and after the first seven seasons it had a one-year hiatus, until the eighth season premiered.
Summaries of the seasons
First
The series began by recounting how Aurelio Casillas’ life was once he lost his father and had to take care of his family.
He was the older brother and with his mother at an advanced age, Aurelio found himself financially complicated, so he decided to enter the world of drug trafficking.
He started out as an errand boy, but it would not take long for him to become a hit man and this later paved the way for him to become the renowned drug trafficker “El Señor de los Cielos”2.
Second
After he was discovered by the police, Aurelio decides to get a facial change at a clinic. Many believed that he had died, and taking advantage of this, the drug trafficker continued to operate in anonymity and began to rely on his bearing to conquer the women of great power in this world. He managed to be the only leader this season.
Third
However, he was recaptured by the police and they imprisoned him in a Mexican navy bunker. The officers tried to get all the information possible from Aurelio to find the accomplices and went so far as to torture.
Quarter
Casillas gets freedom, but not satisfied with having to operate under the shadows, he wants more and manages to put one of his puppets in the presidency of Mexico. There he was able to traffic drugs to the United States without major problems.
fifth
The Lord of the Skies falls madly in love with Emiliana Contreras and decides to move with her near the mountains. He also begins planning a war against his nephew Victor of his.
Sixth
In this season, he has to see himself on the run to avoid falling prey to a feared Colombian drug lord nicknamed “El Cabo”, who appears to settle the debt for the death of his son. He is shot in the head which leaves him in a coma.
Seventh
Here, while some doctors tried to wake him up from a coma, the Casillas create an alliance with their enemies in order to get Aurelio’s brother out of a coma.
In his rescue plan things do not go well and a war breaks out between the governments of Mexico and the United States.
