In December, the streets of central Madrid are filled with visitors from the rest of Spain who want to see with their own eyes and first-hand the famous Christmas lights in the capital. Well, for all those who wait for these holidays by crossing off the days on the calendar, the wait is over because, one month after celebrating Christmas Eve, the lights began to shine yesterday at 7:00 p.m. in the new Plaza de España and will remain on until January 6.

However, the new Plaza de España is the point that aspires to become the emblematic location of lighting this year. It will do so with a giant nativity scene and a fir tree 18 meters high. Competing in this way with the lights of the historic doors of the city and the Plaza Mayor, as well as the figurative nativity scenes or the luminous ball of Alcalá street with Gran Vía, which offers a new visual spectacle during these festivities.
