One of the most shocking events of the first season is the fall of a meteorite, from which a being emerges, which began to be called The Stranger.
Since his arrival this strange man began to forge a friendship with the local Harfoots, whom he did not avoid hurting due to his magic that he has not yet learned to control.
In the season finale, after the Dweller, the Wanderer, and the Ascetic begin to worship this stranger as Sauron, the stranger reveals himself as Istar.
The Istar wizards are destined to come to fight in Middle-earth against Sauron, and one of them is Gandalf, whose appearance is similar to that of the stranger.
Within Tolkien’s books, Gandalf debuts in the Third Age, and joins the fight against Sauron after refusals to participate in this war.
So who is Sauron?
With the Stranger ruled out as Sauron, the odds leaned towards Halbrand, who was behind such events as the troubles in Númenor, as well as the event that made the southern lands inevitable, giving rise to Mordor.

Hallbran had earned Galardiel’s trust after saving her at sea, but allying with the Master to forge the rings of power raised unusual suspicions about this man’s identity.
Galardiel searched the ancient records and realized that the King of the Southlands died a thousand years ago without leaving any descendants. At that moment Galardiel discovered that Halbrand was lying, confirming that Hallbran was Sauron himself.
With Sauron exposed, the second season of The Rings of Power will take on epic overtones.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will follow the exploits of Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), and Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards).
The first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is available on the Amazon Prime Video platform.
