Little by little, new information is being revealed about the film adaptation of the prequel to ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Ballad of songbirds and snakes’. After learning that Tom Blyth (‘The Golden Age’) would be in charge of taking over from Donald Sutherland as Coriolanus Snow, a new actress joins the cast: Rachel Zegler.

‘Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents’ is the adaptation of the fourth book in ‘The Hunger Games’ saga by Suzanne Collins, which works as prequel to the original trilogy: focuses on a young man Coriolanus Snow, before becoming the authoritarian president that we already know. Before the celebration of the tenth Hunger Games, Lucy Gray Baird is assigned as a mentora tribute from District 12, whom he will try to help to survive in the Games.
Rachel Zeglerwho is beginning to be a familiar face in Hollywood thanks to her role in the remake of Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ or her signing as the new Snow White, will play Lucy GrayAs confirmed by Nathan Kahane, Chairman of Lionsgate:

The film will feature Nina Jacobson and Suzanne Collins producing and the latest version of the script is by Michael Lesslie (‘Assassin’s Creed’). Lionsgate has already confirmed that the release date at the international level it will be November 17, 2023.
