Without further ado, we present to you some of the humiliations that Spider-Man has suffered in the comics.
Tombstone puts a good beating on Spidey
In Amazing Spider-Man #3, directed by Zeb Wells, Tombstone takes advantage of a gang war to capture Spidey, and subject him to a good beating inside one of the abandoned subway stations.
That taught the wall-crawler that you have to avoid a gang war first.
Spidey crucified
In Uncanny X-Men #191, by Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. Spider-Man finds himself in the middle of a fight between the X-Men, the Avengers and the New Mutants against a wizard named Kulan Gath.
This sorcerer traps and tortures Spidey, before taking New York back to the dark ages.
Peter Parker loses his job
Spider-Man can’t always get his hero side and his human side in order, and that comes to the fore in The Amazing Spier-Man #623, where JJ Jameson fires Peter Parker as photographer.
This decision is the beginning of an ordeal to be able to maintain his department. At the end of the day Spidey is human and those of us who have lost their jobs on occasion understand this perfectly.
Green Goblin makes Spider-Man look like a coward
In The Amazing Spider-Man #17, Spider-Man meets with a fan club when the Green Goblin attacks, but Peter Parker must leave the battle first as Aunt May had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. Goblin made Spidey look like a coward, and his public image was damaged, one of Spider-Man’s first humiliations.
Kraven usurps Spider-Man’s place
The saga of Kraven’s Last Hunt is one of the most dense tomes where Spidey has one of his most humiliating defeats against Kraven the Hunter.
The Russian buried the friendly neighbor alive to take his place, in order to show that the Russian is better than the wall-crawler. One of the humiliations that cost Spider-Man dearly.
