With everything that has been involved with the fact that Netflix does not allow account sharing now and that many of us really consider whether or not to stay with the subscription (take a look at this new streaming platform that does not reach three euros a month or you are completely legal options at zero euros and tell me if you don’t think about it too), Netflix is not living its most glorious moment.
But that does not mean that in its catalog there are still no hidden gems to discover, such as the miniseries that we recommend you watch this week. A thriller created by Nick Antosca (creator of the wonderful Channel Zero) and Lenore Zion who has crept into the list of The best Netflix miniseries according to Espinof experts.
New cherry flavorthe hidden Netflix miniseries
The protagonist is Rosa Salazar, which may sound familiar to you from series like Undone (an animated wonder about depression that you can watch on Amazon Prime Video) or movies like Alita: Battle Angel. This time she plays Liza Nova, a young film director who decides to ask the supernatural world for help to carry out her revenge.

We go to Los Angeles, to the 90s. There, a young filmmaker finds herself involved in a spiral of supernatural revenge in which sex, magic and kittens are not lacking, because this miniseries is unique and shines in every way. Hypnotic, terrifying at times, tremendously addictive and the reason you need to stay another month on Netflix if you haven’t seen it yet.
In the words of Espinof, New cherry flavor is a mix of David Lynch, Cronenberg and the “cool” indie of the 90s, as if they were in a car Inland Empire, Mulholland Drive, The Neon Demon and Starry Eyes and collided at full speed with kill bill and his story of revenge.
The miniseries is a partial adaptation of Todd Grimson’s late-’90s novel of the same name, and Rosa Salazar is terrific, as is Catherine Keener. This is a bizarre, original and terrifying series, but with a wonderful atmosphere and such an original story that has had me hooked since the first chapter. It is mysterious and dramatic. balanced. Only.
It is the cult series that will be among the best of Netflix and is the reason why we do not leave the subscription to the streaming platform. At least for another month.
