In the month of November 2022, as reported by SMASH accurately, Henry Cavill announced that he would not return in the medium term to play Superman in the DC Universe, although the Briton is still on good terms with DC, to the extent that he could already watch the movie The Flash.
At a press conference, Sasha Calle revealed that thanks to these early screenings of The Flash, she met Henry Cavill, who congratulated her on her role as Kara Zor-El.
“I also met Henry Cavill, the best (Superman). He saw the movie and it was a love, really. He gave me a hug and he told me congratulations, that you loved the movie”
Calle recognized that receiving the compliments of the actor who she considers has made the best Superman in the history of cinema represented a lot for her.
“It meant a lot to me to have Superman tell you that I did super well and that he loved the movie… (I received) a lot of support and a lot of love, the truth is that I did”
Melissa Benoist also surrenders to Supergirl
Henry Cavill isn’t the only Kryptonian who supported Sasha Calle as Supergirl. The actress recalled that one of the first voices in Hollywood that supported her after casting her as The Girl of Steel was Melissa Benoist, the actress who played the same role for television.
“When they gave me the role and it was announced, Melissa Benoist, who is the CW’s Supergirl, she posted it and I sent her a message, because I had seen the series with my little brother and nothing… super cute, tender and sweet”.
With the script by Christina Hodson, The Flash will be directed by Argentine filmmaker Andrés Muschetti and will have Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen / Flash, Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, both as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The Flash will hit theaters in the Mexican Republic on June 15, 2023.
