Many doubts arise in relation to the return of Michael Keaton as Batman in The Flash, and its director Andy Muschietti solves part of those unknowns
It is undeniable that one of the main attractions of The Flash is seeing Michael Keaton playing Bruce Wayne / Batman, after an absence of more than three decades since the premiere of Batman Returns in 1992.

Keaton headlined the first two productions of the Dark Knight, directed by Tim Burton, and the Pennsylvania native left an important mark on the history of Batman in the cinema.

It took 31 years for Keaton to put on the mantle of the Batman again, something that Andy Muschietti never imagined, as he revealed at a press conference.
“I never imagined that (Michael) Keaton was going to come back as Batman, much less that I was going to be the director of that return… It was like some kind of strange dream, I hope it’s not a dream… Working with Keaton was great, he like person”.

Muschietti noted that Batman has been a big part of his life, and directing Michael Keaton’s return as Batman is amazing.
“I grew up with Batman, not just in the comics, but on TV with the original series, the ’60s series with Adam West and Burt Ward. Then came Tim Burton’s hit with his revolutionary film that was a hit and also broke everything.”.
How many years was Batman retired before The Flash?

Warner Bros. Pictures
Muschietti pointed out, without falling into spoilers, how he envisioned the return of Batman, who had already been retired from his fight against crime for several years.
“It was very stimulating to imagine everything that this Batman would have been in those 10 years that we stopped seeing him, before resigning. We don’t see him in ’92, since Batman Returns, but we assume in this movie that he stayed Batman for about 10 more years.”
With the script by Christina Hodson, The Flash will be directed by Argentine filmmaker Andrés Muschetti and will have Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen / Flash, Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, both as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The Flash will hit theaters in the Mexican Republic on June 15, 2023.
