The overwhelming ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ remains the highest-grossing film since the start of the coronavirus pandemic -and also one of the highest-grossing of all time-. sony released an extended version months later that could also be seen briefly in theaters and that now finally available on streaming.
It is on Movistar+ where you can already see this extended montage that adds an additional 11 minutes to the footage of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. In case you are lazy to check on your own what are the additions to this Marvel adventure, at Espinof we wanted to review them, including a new post-credits scene that you can see directly in this article. Without more to add, Let’s go with everything new that it adds:
what’s new

- more interrogations. In the initial minutes of the film, the part dedicated to the interrogation is extended to clarify the death of Mysterio. The new parts focus on Peter trying to explain himself, further revealing that this is not the first time May has been arrested.
- Tom Holland’s brother cameo. This new montage recovers a brief scene in which Harry Holland, the protagonist’s brother, gives life to a thief who is arrested by Spider-Man.
- A little more about J. Jonah Jameson. It’s barely a few seconds, but in the extended montage we see how the character played by JK Simmons talks about Peter’s return to school.
- Peter’s first day at school is longer. We see how Peter ends up climbing a wall after a lot of insistence from his teacher and later walking around the school angry accompanied by MJ.
- The Betty Brant Interviews. One of the longest new scenes, in which we see the character played by Angourie Rice interviewing several of Peter’s teachers as well as some of his classmates such as Flash Thompson or Ned Leeds. The segment closes with a short chat with Peter himself.
- Monster Mash at the Sanctum Sanatorium. The song used in the part with Peter, Mj and Ned in the vault of the Sanctum Sanatorium changes and becomes the theme ‘Monster Mash’. A choice surely motivated by small additions with Ned being a bit clumsy to add a lighter tone. Also, at a certain point, a kind of scaled version of the Sanctum Sanatorium itself is located that seems to have magical properties and inside it seems to be a kind of version of Doctor Strange himself.

- More J. Jonah Jameson frustrated interview. An interview with a worker that doesn’t go as Jameson expected is somewhat longer than in the original cut.
- All together in the elevator. Peter, May, Norman, Otto, Max and Flint in the elevator in a transition scene that we already had footage of but hadn’t originally included.
- A little more about Matt Murdock. The character played by Charlie Cox appears for a few seconds in the film practicing as a lawyer for Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), also asking him to stop sweating.
- The talk between Peter and Norman is longer. It’s only a few seconds, but the moment when they talk about Otto’s powers is a bit longer.
- More scenes of the other Spider-Mans. Small additional items before the final battle. For example, they talk about the organic networks of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man or Andrew Garfield’s saying that they should meet again and asking to share phone numbers when the battle is over.

- A new post-credits scene. Those who saw ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ when it was released in theaters will remember that the second post-credits scene was nothing more than a trailer for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. That does not happen here, where a new report by Betty Brant is included in which several images of the trip to Europe from ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ also appear where Peter does not appear except in one of them, where a dove obscures his face completely. A nice way to show how exactly Strange’s spell works. You can see it just above these lines.
The truth is that no wonder why all this was cut from the final cut, since it does not contribute anything particularly remarkable. In the end it is more of an operation designed for the fans when all this could have simply been introduced in the domestic format edition that is now incomplete.
