There is less than a month left for Amazon to release the highly anticipated ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, but the platform has decided to follow the same line as HBO Max with ‘Game of Thrones’ and launch the enhanced version of the Peter Jackson trilogy on Prime Video. Of course, only the version with the montage released in theaters has been included, not the extended versions.
What is the improvement?
The improvement in question refers to the fact that Amazon has risen the 4K version of all three films Directed by Jackson. Be careful, for this, a remastering work was carried out at the time, supervised by the filmmaker himself, which was not to the taste of all lovers of his adaptation of Tolkien’s novel.
In this way, Amazon manage to differentiate from HBO Max, where all three films are also available, but only in HD. The news has caused a stir among fans of the franchise and some are already talking about doing a marathon sooner rather than later taking advantage of this platform movement.
For my part, I have encouraged myself to take a look and on Amazon they calculate that your connection will spend about 7 GB per hour of viewing if you choose to see them with the best quality image possible on the platform. A very respectable number, but there was still some compression work compared to the UHD edited version.
