We all saw it coming and finally it has been. From the North American chain The CW have confirmed that season 3 from ‘Stargirl’, the DC superhero drama, it will be the last. A new cancellation that joins that of the long dozen series that make up the purge that the chain has carried out this year.
A cleaning that included not only practically all superhero series (‘The Flash’, ‘Batwoman’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and ‘Naomi’) but also some emblems like ‘Riverdale’. After this loss we would have to know the fate of his other “high profile” series such as the rookies ‘The Winchesters’ and ‘Gotham Knights’ or the more veteran ‘Superman & Lois’.
A possibility that they already had
With this percale it is not difficult to imagine that from the producer They already smelled this decision by the chain and Geoff Johnscreator of the series, warns that they had that possibility in mind when developing this season, which ends next December:
“Stargirl has always held a special place in my heart for many reasons. With all the changes at the network, we were aware that this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet, with complete creative closure. The cast and crew are extraordinary and I would like to thank them for helping me bring this series to life. Brec embodied Courtney in every way possible—with grace, strength, and humor—exceeding my wildest expectations. I am grateful to WBTV and The CW for giving us a home to tell this story and honor my beloved late sister, and I am beyond grateful to the press and fans who have always stood behind us through three incredible seasons. Most series never get that far. We couldn’t be more proud of our series and the fan community it has built.”
‘Stargirl’, which can be seen in Spain through HBO Max, follows the story of a teenager (Brec Bassinger) who discovers that her stepfather was a partner of one of the heroes of the extinct JSA.
