Despite the fact that last night ‘Hermanos’ narrowly surpassed ‘Masterchef Celebrity’ (without forgetting that, shortly before, ‘El Hormiguero’ led the night with the visit of Blanca Suárez and Rubén Cortada), it is still the format that works best to RTVE together with Eurovision. For this reason, the chain has decided that will double the number of contestants for the next edition.
“Double Trouble”
Changes are coming in ‘Masterchef’. If the chain recently announced that it would split the galas in two nights (to solve the complaints about the untimely hours at which the galas end), now it has been confirmed that, for the first time in the show’s historythe number of contestants in the anonymous edition will be doubled.
So, season 11 of ‘Masterchef’ will go from having 15-16 applicants to 30-34. For now, this strategy will only affect the anonymous edition of the contest and not ‘Masterchef Celebrity’, which will continue to maintain its usual number of participants.
This announcement has been made public almost at the same time that the beginning of the casting process for the next season. People who want to compete can now fill out the form on the chain’s website and the auditions will take place in person in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Seville.
The culinary contest, produced by Shine Iberia and presented by Pepe Rodríguez, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Jordi Cruz, is one of the most profitable on RTVE and has already had 10 editions in its main version, nine in its ‘Junior’ version, seven in its ‘Celebrity’ version, two in its ‘Grandparents’ version and another Christmas special is being prepared by the end of the year.
Season 7 of ‘Masterchef Celebrity’ is broadcast every Monday on La 1 at 10:00 p.m.
