The announced end of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ will not mean that the creator of the superhero series will be out of work for a long time. And it is that Steve Blackman has been confirmed as the person in charge of adapting ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ for Netflix.
The news has appeared attached to a small interview in Tudum about the end of the adventures of the Hargreeves. In her, Blackman has talked about his two next projects: this and ‘Orbital’, which will take us to a space station in the very near future.
a lush world
But let’s go to what interests us, the television series adaptation of ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’, the PlayStation video game that takes us into a distant future to a world rebuilt by gigantic machines. In Blackman’s words:
“’Horizon Zero Dawn’ is an exceptionally well-made game with wonderful characters you don’t often see in the ranks of the gaming world. Guerrilla Games has created an incredibly lush and vivid world of men and machines on a collision course to oblivion. Her salvation comes in the form of a young warrior named Aloy, who has no idea that she is key in saving the world. Needless to say, yes, Aloy will be a main character in our story.”
Along with Blackman in the script is Michelle Lovretta. What is not entirely clear is whether they will follow the main lines of the game (which is an open world RPG) or if they will use this setting to create a completely new story.
Otherwise, few details we have more of the serieswhich continues Sony’s effort to bring the main franchises of its gaming division to the screen.
