The extinct (or bifurcated) musical group Flos Mariae has risen up on the warpath against the new Los Javis series (Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi). Or, at least, part of the Bellido Durán sisters, those who make up Mariah’s Pop, have been emphatic about the inspiration that ‘La Mesías’ has been able to have in the history of Catholic formation.
«We are against the use of the name of Flos Mariae to publicize the series entitled ‘The Messiah’», the group has reported in a statement through its YouTube channel. A connection, according to them, also given from the media.
Flos Messiah
And it is not surprising that the mythical Christian group comes to mind when thinking about this fiction since the synopsis of the Movistar Plus+ series is triggered by the existence of a viral Christian music group. Composed of several sisters, in addition:
“The viral video of a Christian pop music group made up of several sisters has an impact on the life of Enric, a man tormented by a childhood marked by religious fanaticism and the yoke of a mother with messianic delusions.”
With these ingredients and once the cast and the start of filming have been announced, Flor, Montserrat and Patricia Bellido Durán, three of the former members of Flos Mariae, wanted to record that they have no relationship with the production, and warn of legal measures:
“We want to record that we have never authorized or been asked for permission for this purpose. We reserve the right to take legal action in the event that a crime of insult against our right to honor is committed through the series ‘The Messiah’. We do not consent to be associated with this series. The production company has not contacted us or requested permission for anything.
‘La Mesías’ began filming last August and has a cast made up of Roger Casamajor, Macarena García, Lola Dueñas, Carmen Machi, Ana Rujas, Albert Pla, Amaia, Biel Rossell Y Cecilia Roth. In addition, they will debut Irene Balmes, Bruno Núñez, Carla Moral, Iona Roig, Lluc Jornet, Sara Martínez, Arlet Zafra, Joana Buch Y Ninoska Linares.
Movistar Plus+ plans to premiere the series in 2023.
