Queen Elizabeth II became one of the most important characters today, and the pages of Marvel welcomed her with cameos by the English monarch
London Bridge has fallen. September 8, 2022 will be marked in history as the date on which Queen Elizabeth II died, who from March 26, 1953 assumed the throne of England.
Over seven decades, Queen Elizabeth became one of the most influential characters in the world, and in the Marvel Universe the English monarch could not go unnoticed, starring in several cameos in its pages.
His debut at The House of Ideas
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary debuted in the Marvel Universe in the pages of Captain Britan #37 (June 1977) when a group of villains seek to disrupt the Queen’s jubilee ceremonies.
While two volumes later, in number 39, when a crazed Brian Braddock seeks to attack the Queen, as a result of which he has been mentally dominated. This issue was the last in the first series of the British hero in Marvel history.
The Mutants and His Majesty
But that has not been the only appearance of Queen Elizabeth II, since the X-Men had the English monarch as a constant guest.
Proof of this was Gambit’s visit to Buckingham Palace to steal Excalibur’s sword, which recovered the M13, which occurred in the pages of Gambit #6.
The one who dared to go beyond the royal protocol with Queen Elizabeth was the irreverent Deadpool, who after escaping from an English prison, sneaked into the royal carriage, where he took Queen Elizabeth hostage.
The monarch heard the problem that Deadpool had with Ella Whitby, so the Queen mentioned that she would take action on the matter. Deadpool used the Queen’s clothing to escape from her, while Elizabeth II appeared in the costume of one of her guards.
In the last jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, her royal guard sang the theme of The Avengers, which Alan Silvestri composed for the Marvel Studios film.
Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II
