We have all encountered different types of bosses in our professional lives. It is true that there are more people who complain about their bosses than those who praise them, but there are also those who are exceptionally good and recognize the work of their employees with gestures of thanks.
One such person is Katya Vakulenko, CEO of Soup Agency, an advertising company based in Sydney, Australia, which recently took all of its employees on a two-week, fully paid work trip to Bali, Indonesia, unleashing the envy of all the employees in the world.
Currently known as the “best boss in the world,” Vakulenko told Daily Mail that the trip was the best morale-building and team-building exercise at the agency since its launch, as due to the pandemic, it realized that staff can work remotely, from anywhere in the world.
I think it’s important for workplaces to all work together as a team, both inside and outside of working hours. Covid-19 taught us that there are new ways to work and essentially we can work from anywhere. So we decided to take that to the next level.
The company posted a video of the trip on its Instagram account, showing team members working remotely and engaging in bonding activities such as swimming, snorkeling and enjoying walks in the beautiful landscapes of Bali. In addition, they were delighted with the exquisite gastronomy of the place and drank cocktails during their meetings.
The team also reportedly celebrated the 24th birthday of Michelle, one of the members of the company, with a hike to a volcano in the morning. Despite the obvious distractions, the team was productive over the break.
Having the entire agency working, interacting and collaborating was refreshing. It was definitely an experience in life that I will not forget.

The result of the dynamic was so pleasing that the company is already planning its next “working vacation” in Europe. Lucky you!
