Due to the success, Shondaland decided to produce a spin-off that told us the love story between Queen Charlotte and King George III and how society changed, Queen Charlotte: A Story of the Bridgertons. Where is Reynolds?
One of the most beautiful and emotional stories of the series is that of Brimsley and Reynolds, the two aides of the queen and the king respectivelyand played by Sam Clemmett and Freddie Dennis.
During the six chapters that the miniseries lasts, we live with them their secret meetings, thinking at first that it was just about sex (a bit friends with benefits) and discovering later that they loved each other. In the time in which I lived, it was not something acceptable, so they always lived in hiding, although we did enjoy a nice dance together while a cover of I Will Always Love You of Whitney Houston at the party that the queen and king organize in the final chapter.
Throughout the series we saw Brimsley older, still with Queen Charlotte. But Reynolds was nowhere to be found. We thought that the end would give us the answer, but that last chapter leaves us with a sad impression, that of Brimsley (played this time by Hugh Sachs) dancing alone and with a look of sadness on his face, the same one that stayed with us. to see it. No sign of Reynolds at present.
At the premiere in Los Angeles, Sam Clemmett and Freddie Dennis joked about it, saying that it would be in the Maldives, but Hugh Sachs has taken it upon himself to tell the whole truth in an interview with vulture.
“There was a scene that was cut and ultimately we didn’t film it,” explains Hugh Sachs.. “In it I was going to meet old Reynolds.” And he goes on to explain that Reynolds “was the love of his life, and for whatever reason, they couldn’t stay together. So, when they passed each other in the hallway of the deleted scene , it wasn’t a toxic time. Because of the world they lived in, it was still a huge offense to be gay, it just wasn’t possible.”
That means Reynolds isn’t dead and hopefully, we could see him reunite with Brimsley in the next season of The Bridgertons and that both meet again.
