Five years have passed since ‘Sakura, Card Hunter’ returned to our hearts (and our screens) with a new anime that continued to adapt the CLAMP manga. ‘Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card‘ is still in publication, so unfortunately the anime was left halfway after adapting the first twenty-four chapters… until now!
Better late than never!
After an OVA and 22 anime chapters, the ‘Clear Card’ series had remained incomplete until further notice. It has taken time, but now it has been confirmed a sequel to ‘Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card’ that will adapt the rest of the story to the end.
The manga will end with its 15th volume, which will ship next October. Until we get to that point, the anime will have plenty of time to catch up and direct the plot towards the end, so there should be no problem adapting the whole story as its creators planned it.

Especially since even though we already know that the sequel to ‘Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card’ is in the works, there is no release date yet. From the anime’s social networks they confirm that the series is in production and that there will be more details in the future, but for now they have only left us a first promotional image.
In 2023 it will be 25 years since the first ‘Sakura, Card Hunter’ anime began airing (which, by the way, we have it on Netflix), so it has been the perfect time to announce the sequel. Between this and the new movies of ‘Sailor Moon Cosmos’, we have a pretty nice season left for the return of our favorite magical girls… Now, let’s hope that more things come ahead and we have a revival big time
