Studio Trigger, the great studio of ‘Promare’ and ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’, is taking care of the animation. A few years ago they already produced a small short with which we could get an idea of what the anime of Dungeon Meshibut the first trailer for the anime has finally been released and it comes loaded with rich dishes so as not to disappoint.

Dungeon Meshi It is (logically) very inspired by ‘Dungeons and Dragons’, although with its touch of comedy and original lore. The plot follows a group of adventurers who get lost inside a dungeon, and after facing several monsters and losing their provisions, it seems that there is no way to get out of the place alive. That’s when they meet a very particular dwarf who teaches them the delights of dungeon gastronomy.
The day remains to be specified, but the ‘Dungeon Meshi’ anime will begin airing on January 2024, within the winter season. Let’s see if they give us joy with the distribution, because although it is most likely that it will arrive and Crunchyroll will take care of the simulcast, it is very possible that Disney+, HIDIVE or even AnimeBox want to get the license.
In addition to the release date and trailer, it has also been confirmed that Yoshihiro Miyajima (‘SSSS’) will be directing the anime. And for the soundtrack we will have yasunori mitsudawho has worked on a good number of video games such as ‘Chrono Trigger’ and ‘Inazuma Eleven’ and who will know how to give a good JRPG point to the anime that will come in handy.
