Even though it is a relatively young anime studio, MAP has managed to become one of the Japanese animation production companies to take into account thanks to its work on several of the most powerful series of the moment. To celebrate its anniversary, the studio has released a small gift for its fans. with the help of Spotify.
11 years of anime and many iconic themes
MAPPA began its journey back in 2011 with ‘Kids on the Slope’, but it wouldn’t be until ‘Hajime no Ippo: Rising’ and ‘Yuri!!! on Ice’ which ended up attracting the attention of anime fans. Since then things have only gone up and the studio has gained a spectacular reputation thanks to the spectacular animation of his series and the visual styles he achieves.
And that without getting into the huge workload that he has on him and that seems to be getting bigger every year, so there has to be some juggling in the studio’s production schedules. Right now, MAPPA is working on the anime of ‘Chainsaw Man’, the second season of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ and the final chapters of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’. And as if all this were not enough, they have also been in charge of the animation of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’
Well, with all this and other series like ‘Dorohedoro’, ‘Kakeguri’ or ‘Banana Fish’, 11 years is enough for a lot of animation… and a lot of music. So Spotify has wanted to celebrate this trajectory by launching an official list with the songs of the MAPPA productions.
‘This is MAPPA’ includes six hours and 45 minutes with 100 songs from the studio’s more than thirty series, including the most iconic. The anime studio celebrates its eleventh anniversary next month and this may be the first surprise we get for its birthday, but not the last, so we will have to keep an eye out for any important announcements.
“The most important thing about MAPPA is that they are a very young and hungry team with a lot of energy and creative talent. They are a great example of an ‘Anime Production Studio,'” said LeSean Thomas, who worked with MAPPA on the production of ‘Yasuke ‘ for Netflix.
