Many things can be said to criticize the evolution that the ‘Fast & Furious’ saga has had, but it would be untrue not to recognize that has experienced a steady crescendo; especially since a fifth installment arrived that turned the franchise upside down and made way for four feature films as spectacular as they were crazy.
‘Fast 5’ transformed the cani reverse of ‘They call him Bodhi’ into a tuning-loving superhero epic, something that, in a personal capacity, fascinated me, amused me and made me wish that the thing would go to more sequel after sequel. Fortunately or unfortunately, the arrival of louis leterrier —responsible for titles such as ‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Transporter’, ‘Now You See Me’ or ‘Clash of the Titans’— to the director’s seat of ‘Fast X’ seems to put an end to this dynamic.
return to earth
According to what the filmmaker has said during an interview with Esquire, the tenth adventure of the fast and furious will have a more “realistic” perspective —heh—, and will seek to reconsider the laws of physics and to explore the origins of the already “decalogy” as far as tone is concerned.
“What I wanted to do with this one, because it’s very much my style, was to make it more realistic. I wanted to—not kidding—make it land back on Earth. They went into space in the ninth, and I was like, ‘Okay, they’ve gone into space, there’s no way I can top it.’ But what I can do is something we’ve hardly done before, like roll a one-ton bomb, a real metal ball, through the streets of Rome and wait Don’t vandalize the Coliseum.”
This translates into a greater weight of practical effects and real stunts —seasoned by a necessary dose of CGI to make everything safer and more spectacular. This is how the director explained it.
“Obviously we have the help of the visual effects, but we just need to base everything on the practical. The visual effects were basically for security and scale issues, but we need the foundation to stay in our reality. Without that, it would be too much. I wanted it to be It felt like Fast 1, Fast 3 and Fast 5. That’s my style, and everyone accepted it, so everyone was on board. Everyone was excited to re-explore physical stunts.”
‘Fast & Furious 10’, which has just released its brand new trailer, It will hit our theaters on May 19.. I don’t know about you, but I’m already waiting for it like the water of the aforementioned month.
