One more story of Zoom’s failures starred Tenoch Huerta, who did not know that he was agreeing to become Namor for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Inspired by pre-Hispanic cultures, the story of Black Pamther: Wakanda Forever will present Namor, the monarch of Talocan, who will be played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, who was unaware that he had accepted the role thanks to the failures of the zoom platform .

During the pandemic (which is not over yet) Zoom became one of the most used tools to communicate with people from remote points, but its high demand caused this software to fail many times.
This happened to Tenoch Huerta, who recounted in an interview for Empire how Ryan Coogler offered him the role of Namor, which he only found out about later.
(Ryan Coogler)He said something about a shaman and people undergoing a transformation, but something went wrong with the Zoom connection and he froze for about five minutes in the middle of his speech… Then he came back and said, ‘What do you think?’ I said, ‘Yes, thank you!”.
Given the uncertainty of which role Huerta had accepted, it was not until he spoke with his representatives to find out that he was contemplated to play Namor.
“It wasn’t until my team called me the next day that I found out he was offering me Namor. I was like, ‘fuck!’”
The Kingdom of Talocán approaches the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Namor is the first mutant in Marvel history and that won’t change in the MCU, but the mythology of the King of the Oceans will change in the Marvel Studios version, drawing inspiration from Aztec and Mayan cultures.
“In our version, it feels much more real than fiction. In the style of the MCU, we have based it on real cultural meaning and cultural traditions. You see the Latino contingent that is visually present.
Tenoch Huerta credited Ryan Coogler for incorporating Mesoamerican aspects into Talocan, the underwater kingdom that will once again go to war with Wakanda.
“Ryan Coogler’s creation within the Marvel cinematic landscape is one of profound honor and connection to real things. So I think a lot of people will see themselves represented”.
