The director, producer and screenwriter Steven Knight has been chosen to write the new film in the saga of “Star Wars”whose pre-production began last summer. It is planned that the world premiere of this film that will give rise to a new trilogy will be on December 19, 2025.
More details will be released in a few weeks, but in the meantime Knight will be working on the script with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The film will show new characters and its story will unfold after the events shown in the 2019 film. “The Rise of Skywalker”which was a worldwide success.
Steven is the creator of the television series Peaky Blinders and as a screenwriter he nominated for the award oscar in 2003 for the film “Dirty pretty things”; other of his works are “Eastern promises”, Spencer and Serenity. Unlike recent projects “Star Wars” like the series “The Mandalorians” and “Andore” This new film will initially be released in theaters and not on the platform of streaming Disney+.
