We don’t know if it will continue after Episode IX or there will be a spin-off, but the Star Wars sequel trilogy will reappear in the saga.
In an interview given to Empire Magazine during the red carpet Star Wars Celebrationthe president of lucasfilm, kathleen kennedy, was on hand to talk about where the galactic saga movies are going to go from now on. And also what can be the status of the films that were announced a few years ago. Like for example, the sequel trilogy.
Kathleen Kennedy assured that the era of the aftermath of starwars it is one of the horizons they have in mind for the future. Especially, in the plot of the movies. That means that the movies from the galaxy far, far away that we see next will have to do with the sequel trilogy.
“We are moving beyond existing sequels, as we look into our cinematic space,” the Star Wars president explained. “The sequel trilogy is what we talk about a lot in terms of where we’re going with our movies or how far we’re going to be from them. That’s very much the space we’re concentrating on.”
What is the next thing we will see of the saga in the cinema?
Empire Magazine went on to report that the next Star Wars movie would be the untitled project of Taika Waititidirector of Thor: Love and Thunder. Meanwhile, it has already been announced that the film of Rogue Squadron directed by Patty Jenkins (wonder-woman) remains fallow. On the other hand, the Rian Johnson trilogy is paralyzed after the success of daggers in the back. The filmmaker’s commitment to Netflix it makes his link with the galactic franchise take a backseat. Therefore, everything points to perhaps the Taika Waititi film being related to the sequel trilogy.
