August 1 is one of the holidays for Marvel with the celebration of Spider-Man Day, even though the publication of Amazing Fantasy #15 is from August 10, 1962.
The month of August has arrived, one of the special months for Marvel since in 1962 one of the most important characters in its history came to light, Spider-Man, who celebrates Spider-Man Day on August 1.
Don’t Miss: Amazing Fantasy #15: Spider-Man’s Story and Triumph
The pages of Amazing Fantasy #15 were the ones that introduced the origins of Spider-Man, who is the shy teenager Peter Parker, who obtained his abilities thanks to being bitten by a radioactive spider in a scientific exhibition.
In this edition we also learn about one of the reasons that led Peter Parker to defend justice as Marvel’s favorite wall-crawler.
The death of beloved Uncle Ben was an event that he himself could have prevented, and that is why now Spider-Man defends the innocent in a complex city like New York.
Why is Spider-Man Day on August 1?
Amazing Fantasy #15 was published on August 10, 1962. This issue was the last publication of this Marvel title, but that didn’t mean it would be the end of Spider-Man in the comics.
The wall-crawler starred in his own title The Amazing Spider-Man, which arrived in March 1963, and which is one of Marvel’s longest-running publications.
Despite the fact that August 10 is the official date of Spider-Man’s debut in the comics, social networks have been responsible for promoting August 1, first as #NationalSpiderManDay, and later as #SpiderMan Day.
This day do not miss the opportunity to honor the hero who taught us that with great power comes great responsibility, and take the opportunity to wear a Spidey t-shirt, read his comics or put together a marathon with the films that the wall-crawler has led, first in 1977 and then from 2002 to today.
And don’t forget that the best comics in the history of Spider-Man can be found in the SMASH online store.
