Now it’s getting easier to see streaming anime, and we have a massive list of new series that premiere every season. Each platform wants to have its own catalog of novelties… and unfortunately many great classics are left out.
We still have a very large list of classic anime series that are very lost and that we are waiting for some platform to want to recover, but luckily if we like the 90s anime We have some very nice and unforgettable ones with whom we can have a good marathon.
‘trigun’
Now it has had a new remake in the form of ‘Trigun Stampede’, but Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga already had a series at the time that is a true marvel of space western. Although since the manga was still in publication at that time, the anime story ended up going in other directions.
The plot of ‘Trigun’ follows Vash Stampede, known as “the Human Hurricane” because wherever it passes it leaves a trail of chaos and destruction. For their part, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson are two employees of an insurance company whose task is to minimize the damage they cause.
‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’
‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ is without a doubt one of the great anime of the decade which also introduced an entire generation outside of Japan to the medium. The plot is set in a futuristic Tokyo that is still recovering from a terrible event known as Second Impact that happened years ago.

‘Yuyu Hakusho’
Before Yoshihiro Togashi totally hooked us with ‘Hunter x Hunter’ came ‘Yuyu Hakusho’ to dominate the land of shonen. In Spain we also knew it with the subtitle “The warriors from beyond” and the plot continued Yusuke Urameshia thug who dies run over while saving a child.

‘Slayers’
One of the classics of Sword and Sorcery anime which in Spain came to us as ‘Reena and Gaudy’ to adapt the light levels and the manga by Hajime Kanzawa and Rui Araizumi.
With a mix of humor, fantasy and lots of action, the plot of ‘slayers’ follow Reena Inverse, a powerful teenage enchantress who travels the world with the intent of striking it rich. One day she meets the swordsman Gaudy Gabrielev, and when he discovers that he has a very powerful ancient sword, he decides to travel with him until he can get hold of it.
Cowboy Bebop
One of the great jewels of 90’s anime which is impossible to replicate (and which also needs no introductions). ‘Cowboy Bebop’ has it all: stellar animation, charismatic characters, a story that hooks you from the beginning, and a soundtrack of ten.
Set in the year 2071, the anime brings together a group of outcasts who make a living as bounty hunters. So, Spike Spiegel and Jet Black they end up joining forces with a con artist, a teenage hacker and a dog with superhuman intelligence to track down the best loot in the galaxy.
‘Great Teacher Onizuka’
Another great 90’s classic that has long been hard to find until quite recently. ‘Great Teacher Onizuka’ (or also ‘GTO’) focuses on Onizuka, a 22 year old delinquent who decides to become a teacher to…basically flirt with chatis when he realizes that the teachers are successful with their students.
Luckily, he soon realizes that the position actually comes with a lot of responsibility and he cannot go on committing atrocities, so he becomes an exemplary teacher who cares a lot about his students.
‘Berserk’
the sleeve of Kentaro Miura It has had more recent adaptations, but without a doubt the one that many fans remember most fondly is the 1997 anime. Although unfortunately it didn’t last long, it does manage to capture much of the magic of Guts’ story.
This first anime of specifically adapts the arcs of The Black Warrior and The Golden Age, which serve as an introduction to the entire plot and also shows us the past of its protagonist. ‘Berserk’ is the story of gutsa mercenary who travels to hunt down demonic beings like Apostles.
‘Ranma 1/2’
Between ‘Urusei Yatsura’ and ‘InuYasha’, Rumiko Takahashi gave us ‘Ranma 1/2’, which also had its own anime and a multitude of OVAs in the 90s. The plot follows Ranma Saotome, a young man who fell into an enchanted pond while training and every time he comes into contact with cold water he turns into a red-haired girl.
In addition, his father and that of Akane Tendo they have decided that the two young men must marry, leaving Ranma to deal with the arranged marriage and a multitude of suitors who have had their hearts broken. comedy, romance, slice of life high school and martial arts, ‘Ranma 1/2′ had it all.
‘Sakura, card chaser’
‘Cardcaptor Sakura‘ hasn’t even come close to over and we’ll have the sequel to the CLAMP anime coming soon, but while the time finally comes what we can do is remember the classic series that started it all.
This magical girl anime follows Sakura Kinomoto, a ten-year-old girl who accidentally breaks the seal on a magical book and releases a series of letters that were inside. In order to recover them all and prevent a great catastrophe from breaking out in the world, Sakura becomes a card chaser and begins to learn new skills with which to face each other’s magical powers.
‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing’
‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing’ it has the honor of being the series of the Sunrise franchise that came to the United States in style and that cemented the Gundams outside of Japan. It is the sixth series of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ and one of the spin-offs best valued by fans, with a fascinating history and some of the most iconic designs.
In a future where humanity has expanded into space, thousands of people live in orbital colonies under a tyrannical government. The plot follows a group of revolutionaries who, to fight injustices, build five gigantic robots called Gundam with which to fight for the independence of the colonies.
