Shakira has been in the news worldwide since last month thanks to its collaboration with Bizarrap “Music sessions #53” and a recent duet with Carol G.but now the Colombian artist gave an interview to the Mexican journalist Enrique Acevedo for the newscast “O’clock” of Televisain which she spoke of her achievements, the importance her children have for her and the new stage she is going through in terms of her personal life after her notorious separation from Gerard Piqué.
Visibly calm and smiling Shakira began by acknowledging the catharsis caused in her by the collaboration with the Argentine producer bizarre: “If that It was a great relief, also necessary for my own healing, for my own recovery process.. I think I would be in a very different place if I hadn’t had that song, the chance to express myself, to think about the pain. I think someone had to take a photo of the day I worked on session 53 with Bizarrap, a before and after. I entered the studio one way and left anotherand it is one of the things that I am most grateful to byzathat he has given me that space, that opportunity to vent ”.
Acevedo highlighted the professional achievements that Shakira has had for three decades, but She maintained that now her priority is her children Milan and Sasha, who, by the way, have been a fundamental part of her recent musical projects.: “The thing about the “Session 53” with byza It is the result of a suggestion from Milan. He told me: ‘Mommy, you have to do something with Bizarrap’…Now I feel complete because I feel that I depend on myself and that I also have two children that depend on me, so I have to be stronger than a lioness”.
In the conversation, the Colombian admitted that she went through a period of depressionbut now she is ready to start a new chapter in her life, with more inner strength: “(I) also bought that story that a woman needs a man to complete herself, a family…I also had that dream of having a family in which the children had a father and a mother under the same roof. Not all dreams in life come true, but life finds a way to make it up to you somehow..
It was inevitable that Enrique would mention to Shakira the already famous phrase “Women no longer cry, women bill”who sings in “Music sessions #53”to which she commented: “I have realized that Women are at a really key moment for society. We are at a point where the support we can receive from each other is very relevant, it is extremely important”.
After the separation he went through, Shakira is completely in favor of empowering women and has a very positive attitude: “There are dreams that are broken and that you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and rebuild yourself… the opposite of depression is the expression…“I suffer a little from what they say is called “impostor syndrome”, mild, that I still don’t believe it, that I still don’t believe that I am as capable as they say I am or as clever or as creative or as intelligent or as talented”. And above all, what he considers basic is strength: It has to be a strength as the result of experiencing a duel, of accepting it, of understanding, of tolerating frustration, that there are things in life that don’t go the way you want them to.”.
