Last year Christina Applegate reported that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, but continued to work in Dead to me, the television series in which he stars. Now selma blairone of her great friends and who has suffered from the same disease since 2018, commented on the attitude with which Applegate faces this new stage of her life.
“Christina is very strong. If you need something, she is there, at your house. There have been things that have brought me down, and she encourages me by saying, ‘I’m out. Open the door’. She’s amazing and strong and funny,” said Blair, who starred with Applegate in the 2002 film. “The sweetest thing”.
Selma has also given Christina advice to lead a better life, in something as basic as walking, and recommended certain types of canes.: “I’m really interested in all of that, like all the things that help me move, but she’s blocking it. It’s a lot, but she’s as bright and gorgeous as ever.”
Some days ago Christina Applegate unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in what was the first public event she attended after her diagnosis. Selma was there, applauding and encouraging her, as she herself knows the complications that can arise: “With a chronic illness you have special considerations, and my body has received a blow. It’s too much for the safety of my bones. It could cause a lot of damage, which of course I don’t want.”
