Selena Gomez has come out in defense of Hailey Bieber amid the death threats the model has been receiving, after several weeks of internet rumors about an alleged rivalry between them. In response, Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey has shared her own statement about his alleged feud with Selena.
The girls have been in the spotlight for more years due to their connections to Justin Bieber. Although Selena and the singer dated in 2011, Hailey has now been married to Justin since 2019.
Despite this, fans and viewers have speculated about a possible drama between the two womenincluding whether Hailey and her friends had been shadowing Selena on TikTok, and vice versa.
Days ago, Selena announced that she would be taking a hiatus from social media after she and Hailey went viral when the internet assumed several of their posts were about each other. Selena asked her Instagram followers to stop the hate, and Hailey responded with a thank you of her own.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Selena wrote in her message. “This is not what I represent. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I have always advocated for kindness and I really want all of this to stop.”
In his own statement, Hailey wrote: “I want to thank Selena for speaking up as she and I have been discussing for the past few weeks how to get past this ongoing narrative between me and her. The last few weeks have been very difficult for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate surrounding this that it is extremely damaging.”
Hailey continued: “In the end, I believe that love will always be greater than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, myself included.”
