It’s about final seasons today and it’s because Paramount+ have announced that season 5 of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ will be the last of the fantastic science fiction series. Thus ends the first big bet of the trekkie franchise in the streaming scene.
In this way, it will be in 2024 when we say goodbye to the crew led by Michael Burnham as they explore the universe in the remote future. In this final season they will go in search of an ancient power hidden for centuries.. They will not be the only ones, but all the enemy towns will rush to catch the trophy.
The cast of ‘Star Trek Discovery’ is made up of Sonequa Martin Green (Captain Michael Burnham) Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), mary wiseman (Sylvia Tilly) Wilson Cruz (Dr Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blue from the neighborhood (Adira) and callum keith rennie (Rayner).
The series that started the new trekkie era
Led in production by Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise as coshowrunners, the success of the series was absolutely vital to Star Trek’s revival on its most natural ground: television. Another thing is that it has stood out for assuming a kind of break with what is understood by trekkie fiction (it is darker, very serialized, etc.).
I am a declared fan of the series but I admit that I have not been able to watch the entire season 4, partly due to its change of platform in Spain, going from Netflix to Pluto overnight, which prevented it from being able to watch it on demand and in the original version. Let’s hope that the final season arrives in condition now that SkyShowtime exists.
