As they say, when the river sounds, water carries. We have spent some time with the buzz about whether ‘Succession’, the excellent dramatic satire of filthy rich people running a mega company, was coming to an end and finally has.
After the words of both Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong pointing in this direction, it has finally been Jesse Armstrong who in an interview with The New Yorker has confirmed that what is currently the best series of HBO will end during the upcoming season 4which will be released on March 26.
“It would have been strange and perverse”
In the showrunner’s words:
“There are different factors. One, we could have said it as soon as we kind of decided, almost when we were writing it, which I think would have been weird and wicked. We could have said it at the end of the season. I liked that idea, creatively, because the audience is able to enjoy everything that’s going on, not trying to figure things out or perceive things in a certain way once they know it’s the final season, but also the countervailing thought was that we didn’t bury the ball too much in the I feel a responsibility to the audience and I personally wouldn’t like the feeling of, “Oh, that’s it, folks. That was the end.” I wouldn’t want that in a series. I think I would like to know that it’s coming to an end.”
Thus, as you can see, it is a game of honesty with the viewer, which is greatly appreciated. Now you just need to see what the road is like until the last episode of the series. Let’s remember that season 3 ended with Logan moving ahead of his children on the right and stripping them of the keys to the kingdom. All a betrayal whose consequences we will see in this season.
