among all anime isekai that premiere every season, it’s hard to keep track of all the impossible reincarnations… But one of the ones that have attracted the most attention this year has been ‘Reincarnated as a Sword’, also know as ‘Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita‘ or ‘Tenken’ in Japan.
No memories, but with a sharp personality
the anime of C2C adapts the light novels of Yuu Tanaka and follows a protagonist with peculiar luck. After dying in a car accident, it turns out that he has appeared in another world and reincarnated as a sword, though he has no memories of his previous life.
When a slave named Fran finds the sword, uses it to defend himself, and nicknames it “Teacher“, whereupon they both embark on an adventure together.
The light novels already have 14 volumes and the manga adaptation illustrated by Tomowo Maruyama already has 12 volumes, so there is still quite a bit of material ahead. The first season of the anime has closed this week with twelve episodes, and if it has left you wanting more, the good news is that it has been confirmed that there are more episodes in the works.
Unfortunately, tono release date yet so we will have to be patient and see if the second season premieres at some point during 2023. What has been seen is a first promotional poster and a collaboration with ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’, one of the biggest anime of the isekai genre of the moment.
shinji ishihira the director of ‘Fairy Tail’ and ‘Edens Zero’ has been in charge of directing the anime, with Atsuki Saito as animation director and character designer and Takahiro Nagano as main writer. If you’re curious about this adventure anime, the first season is available on HIDIVE.
