Director sam raimi recently spoke about whether his lack of knowledge of the television series Scarlet Witch and Vision affected the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Raimi admitted that he has never seen the entire series, but only saw key moments from a few episodes that had an impact on his story. For many fans, this could have been a problem, because as we already told you in our review without spoilersthe film seems more like a sequel to the series than the Doctor Strange original.
The director pointed out that, during the process of writing the script for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessfound that he had to follow certain plot points of Scarlet Witch and Visionand in spite of it never saw the complete series.
I’m actually not sure what the Scarlet Witch and Vision schedule was like or how it changed. I just know that halfway, or maybe three-quarters of the way through the writing process of our script, was when I first heard that this series was being done and that we would have to follow it. So we had to really study what Scarlet Witch and Vision were doing, in order to properly follow the story and the dynamics of character growth. I never got to see the whole series. I’ve only seen key moments from a few episodes that I was told had a direct impact on our story.
