To the list of remembered television programs that are going to return to our screens (such as ‘Password’ or the mythical ‘One, two, three’) we must add ‘Peking Express’: RTVE has finally managed to get hold of the rights to the reality show of adventures, that will shoot its new season in Guatemala and Mexico.
New route
RTVE had been in talks since September to take over the rights to ‘Peking Express’. After several months, it has been confirmed that at last has reached an agreement with boomerang to be able to broadcast the program in what would be its season 7.
The project will have a budget of more than two million euros and he has already set Mexico and Guatemala as his next destinations, to which the team will travel when the shooting schedule closes.
The adventure reality show began its adventures in 2008 and has gone through three other channels before RTVE: it was on Cuatro until 2011, on Antena 3 in 2015 and on laSexta in 2016. It has also had up to four different presenters: Paula Vazquez, Raquel Sanchez Silva, Jesus Vazquez Y Cristina Pedroche.
The contest adapts an original format from the Netherlands and Belgium and consists of 10 couples who must travel 10,000 kilometers to surpass their competitors and win the prize of 100,000 euros. There is no official release date yet but it is estimated that it could be towards the second half of 2023.
