Wearing the national team shirt, Roger Waters concluded his visit to the country with two extraordinary concerts in Mexico City.
All the attendees seem to agree on something: the presentation of Roger Waters in Mexico City gave us the best concert of the year. The appointment was at the Palacio de los Deportes, a space sponsored by MG Motor, and where other artists such as Bring the Horizon, C Tangana or División Minúscula, among others, will soon be presented.

This is the This Is Not a Drill tour, originally scheduled for 2020, but postponed until 2022 due to the global Covid pandemic. With this show, the veteran musician showed that, in addition to being the author of several of the greatest songs in rock history, having been an essential part of one of the most important groups of all time and having become a peace activist, who is like few living artists knows how to put on a good show, with an impressive set and dazzling staging. For a sample, take a look at the beginning of the concert that the same singer shared, with a “Comfortably Numb” that is still as valid as when it premiered and a Palacio de los Deportes transformed into a 360 stage.

Roger Waters in Mexico: all that is well
Through songs like “The Powers That Be” and “The Bravery of Being Out of Range” or some much more classic ones like “Sheep”, In the Flesh” and “Run Like Hell”, Waters endorsed himself as one of the consciences of just causes, regardless of the ideologies of governments. Thus, he raised his voice against militarization, police brutality, recalling the cases of Victoria Salazar, the Salvadoran migrant murdered by authorities in Tulum, Mexico, as well as that of George Floyd, killed in 2020 by an American police officer and others such as those of Rachel McCurrie, Mahsa Amini and the Mexican Giovanni López.
The forum also served to speak out for the freedom of Julian Assange and the people of Palestine. But perhaps the most emotional moment was when “Shine You Crazy Diamond” was played, while the screens showed images of Syd Barrett, the story of how he met him was told, to crown the story with “Wish You Were Here”: “Syd and I we went to a concert. When we came back we made a promise: to create a band”.
Whatever they say, Roger Waters always offers concerts of very good quality and above all, they touch your most sensitive fibers.

Towards the end of his concert, and after long shots of mezcal, Roger Waters put on a Mexico team shirt for the last moments of an unforgettable concert.
What I experienced last night was a wait of almost 2 and a half years and it completely exceeded my expectations. I don’t think any artist can match this concert JEWEL. I love you Roger Waters, I love you Pink Floyd ❤️ pic.twitter.com/xfmhZ2wls4
