María de los Ángeles de las Heras Ortiz, better known in show business as Rocio durcal, She was one of the greatest exponents of romantic music of her generation.because as a soloist and by the hand of great artists he gave songs that remain valid almost two decades after his departure.
It was a day like today, but from the year 2006 when the light of the Spanish woman went out after losing the battle against cancer that she was diagnosed with in October 2001. The ‘lady of the song’ died at her home in Torrelodones (Madrid) , at 61 years of age.
Despite her unfortunate death, the whole world remembers the legacy that the interpreter feared as “Como tu mujer” and “La gata bajo la lluvia” left. For this reason we share with you an account of the artistic career of Rocío Dúrcal.
His first approach to music was through his paternal grandfather, who was his main admirer and promoter of his art. In fact, he motivated her to participate in various radio contests, being “First applause” the first one where the young woman, then 15 years old, obtained great recognition.
Said contest was seen by the Madrid talent scout Luis Sanz, who upon hearing Rocío was hooked and did not hesitate to look for Rocío Dúrcal to begin his training in singing and dancing.
This is how the famous woman begins an intense period of singing training with Lola de Aragón, the teacher Quiroga and Algueró. As for her flamenco dance classes, she received support from Jarrito and Alberto Lorca.



It would be at the age of 17 when Dúrcal set foot on Mexican territory for the first time, a place that became her second home and that led her to collaborate with the icon Juan Gabriel. At her side, she composed several songs that quickly became popular and made her the Ambassador of Mexican folklore.
Some of the greatest hits of this era are: “Cuando decidas volver”, “Rancheras y mexicanas” and of course, “Amor Eterno”.



Regarding her facet as an actress, Rocío debuted with the film “Canción de Juventud”, to later be part of stories such as “La Chica del clover”, “I am 17 years old”, “More beautiful than any”, “Cristina Guzmán” and “The Leandras”.
Unfortunately, the actress and singer passed away on March 25, 2006, at her home in Torrelodones (Madrid), at the age of 61 after a tough battle against cancer. However, her departure does not prevent the public from continuing to remember her fondly.
