Robert Downey Jr. He said he was present on the red carpet, accompanied by his wife, Susan Downey, but the actor’s look left everyone present surprised.
Downey Jr. appeared with a completely shaved head, the complete opposite of his appearance that he has always shown when playing his role as Iron Man.
The 57-year-old actor attended the delivery of the Governors Awards at the Fairmont Centery Plaza in Los Angeles, last Saturday, November 19.
The Marvel actor posed in an elegant black suit with a white shirt and black tie, a classic in the world of fashion; but ultimately, the true protagonist was his forceful change of look.
But this radical change of look has a reason, a new opportunity acting in ‘The Sympathizer’ from HBO.
At the end of October, Robert posted a video on his Instagram profile showing how his children gave him a haircut at home for this new movie.
Downey Jr. was interacting with his children, Exton, 10, and Avri, eight, told them: “I don’t want to have to wear a bald cap to pretend, so will you shave my head?”
This new production ‘The Sympathizer’is a series that will adapt Viet Thanh Nguye’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
It has been described as an espionage thriller and cross-cultural satire during the last days of the Vietnam War, detailing the story of a communist spy, who is half French and half Vietnamese.
This series will be co-starred by the actor, but he will also play different secondary characters.
Also present in this series will be the actresses: Sandra Oh (Greys Anatomy), Kieu Chinh and Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen.
So far there has been no further detail about the names of the characters in the production, nor what is the date of its premiere.
Prior to the full shave, Robert had a shorter haircut during a special screening of ‘Mr.,’ a Netflix documentary about his late father, who passed away early last July.
