While Netflix is losing shows from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, Amazon Prime Video has decided to add its own drag queen reality show to its catalog: ‘Drag Den’ will premiere on December 8 and will be presented by Manila Luzon.
“Drag, Depth, Gorgeous!”
‘Drag Den’ was announced on July 1, 2021 and soon after he opened his casting process and began his recordings. The project, produced by CS Studios and Project 8, performed as the first drag show in the Philippines although the delays ended up leading to ‘Drag Race Philippines’ being released earlier.
The latter does belong to the ‘Drag Race’ franchise, while ‘Drag Den’ is an independent program that only shares with the popular brand created by RuPaul to one of his former contestants: Manila Luzon. After her unforgettable stint on season 2 and seasons 1 and 4 of ‘All Stars’, Luzon will serve as emcee on her own show.
Accompanied by the model Nicole Cordoves (winner of Miss Grand International in 2016) and the TikTok star Sassa Gurl, she will evaluate the eight candidates of this first edition: Ariel Night, Lady Gagita, Pura Luka Vega, Barbie-Q, OA, Maria Cristina, Shewarma Y Naia will face off for the Philippine supreme drag title.
The wait has been long but next Thursday, December 8, ‘Drag Den’ will finally premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
